how to protect your eyes from computer and television (TV)

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

The eye was not made to be constantly focused on close objects. If your work requires that you stare at a computer screen all day long or if you watch a lot of television, stop from time to time to do a few eye exercises.
For example, roll your eyes in large circles in both directions; look over to each side as far as possible and then go from up to down; or scan an imaginary text on the wall from left to right; or look out the window as far as you can following the horizon then return to a point right in front of you and begin again.

In this way, you will avoid long term eye problems, you will enlarge your inner space, and relax both your eyes and your mind.

How to stop worrying and obsessive thoughts which may cause over thinking brain habit.

Thursday, August 4, 2011

Research shows that 52 percent of people mull things over and over before making a move. But thinking too much can trap the brain in a worry cycle, explains psychologist Susan Nolen-Hoeksema, PhD. When you find yourself going round-and-round over an issue, try using some of these tips:
Get a second opinion. You’re used to going it alone, but the old adage two heads are better than one is a good mantra for you.
Look for distractions. When you begin over thinking, get up and change places. Studies show that a new vantage point can be enough to shake you out of a fruitless thought process.
Keep a handwritten stop sign on your desk or bathroom mirror. Visual clues can cut down on excessive thinking
Envision a happy ending. Praying or meditating on a positive outcome will block confusing or negative thoughts.
Steer clear of worry buddies, friends who tend to over think things just as you do. Reaching out to a positive thinker will help you think positively, too.

How To Handle or Deal With Negative People

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

Negative people are an unfortunate fact of life. Whether it is the coworker who is always complaining about the company or the sister whose judgmental remarks make every visit an ordeal, they drive us nuts. Here is the bad news: we are not going to change them. But we can learn to react to them in ways that protect our self-esteem as well as our sanity.
So we are gathered some great tips for you:
Steer the conversation in a neutral direction.

Talk about books, movies, celebrities - anything that will stop the complaining or snarking.

If a person is talking about a specific problem (the high cost of medical care, the amount of work she has to do), just listen to her and try to understand how she feels. If you want, ask if there’s anything you can do to help, but only if it won’t drain you.

Do not argue. That just draws you into the cycle of negativity. Complainers are likely to think that you’re trying to talk them out of feeling angry, and that can make them even angrier. You can just say “Okay” or “I understand,” and switch the subject. That can make them angry, too, but at least you’re not spending your energy arguing.

Reduce contact with them, or eliminate it altogether. Not every problem has a solution, and it could be that the complainer just wants to hang on to her negative feelings, no matter how illogical that is. If that’s the case, she needs a lot more than a sympathetic ear. She needs therapy!

Many people ask me about how to avoid back pain. Our life style is changing very rapidly and this back pain disturb people in doing their activities like their work, mood etc. We spend most of our time on chair, even at home we always in front of the television or just relaxing on the sofa. If any of these chairs you are using do not give you the adequate back support that you need, you will find that you will end up getting aches and pains.

Back support pillows allow you to rest the spine in its natural spine curvature position and at the same time gives you support on your back to relieve the pain. Because they are made according to an orthopedic design, they assist you in reducing back fatigue while you are driving or sitting.

Sometime a perfect pillow is also quite an important ingredient to avoid back pain. We need to find out the accurate position where the pillow will be perfectly placed under your head back to acquire perfect back support.

Hope you will find this information useful. Prevention is always better then cure.

how to prevent headaches and avoid migraines

Now a day Headaches are very common. So I have decided to provide you some tips for it. To cure a headache eat something. Low blood sugar is one of the causes of irritability and headache. Sugar is not a cure for low blood sugar, though it may raise the blood sugar temporarily and make one feel better for a while.

Low blood sugar is the result of an abused pancreas which over stimulates the production of insulin in the body. It can be controlled by eating smaller meals at short intervals rather than the standard three large meals daily. The intake of carbohydrates should be cut down to the minimum. Coffee should be eliminated as it over stimulates the pancreas.

Are you aware about retail therapy? We all knew about the mental health benefits of a good buy, but now researchers have discovered that shopping might actually extend your lifespan. Men and women who shop daily live longer than those who shopped less frequently, found a study of people over the age of 65 in Taiwan. Researchers speculate that shopping likely improves exercise, social interactions, and diet, which could all contribute to a longer life.

"Shopping is often for pleasure with the potential to increase psychological well being" the researchers conclude in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health. "Compared to other types of leisure-time physical activity, like formal exercise, which usually requires motivation and sometimes professional instruction, shopping activity is easier to undertake and maintain."

In short GO SHOPPING.

How to fight aging

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Did you know that just walking for 30 minutes, 3 or 4 times a
week is enough to combat aging?

According to researchers, one of the principle causes of deterioration of the human organism’s physical faculties is its diminished ability to metabolize glucose. And they showed that even leisurely exercise, like taking a walk, plays an important role in keeping glucose metabolism functioning smoothly.

Do you spend the whole day sitting at your desk or in front of a computer screen? Why not get up occasionally and do a few minutes of physical exercise? Don’t worry about what other people think. In some Japanese companies, it is even become a collective habit. Every twenty minutes a bell sounds, and everybody gets up to do some stretching exercises, after which they sit down again as if nothing had happened. Japanese managers are convinced that their employees are more productive when they are relaxed.

How to take care of your heart

First thing you should consider looking after your heart is your sleeping position.

If you sleep on your stomach or on your left side, you are putting pressure on your heart with the extra body weight, while the heart has to continue pumping blood as usual. This additional burden wears the heart out more quickly. Think about it - you spend more than one third of your life sleeping.

To reduce the strain on your heart, sleep on your right side, or on your back. This simple technique will add years to your life.
